A study on the effect of medically-oriented person camp






Abstract
Disabled person camp was held by CUH(Chonnam university Hospital). Medical programs were carried out in order to reevaluate the severity of disability, to counsel disability, and to treat after ward. The subjects of this study were 38 handicapped
youth
selected in special schools and residental facilities.
They were examined for their medical problems by 10 clinical departments of CUH and were measured functional status with function al assessment scales and psychological status with SCL-90-R.
@ES the results were as follows.
@EN 1) The cases of medical problems were 29 cases in Department of Dentistry, 25 in Department of Rehabilitation medicine, 22 in Department of orthopedic Surgery, 11 in Department of Clinical pathology, 7 in Department of Otolaryngology-Head and
Neck
Surgery, 6 in Department of Neuropsychiatry, 4 in Department of Ophthamology and 4 in Department of lnternal Medicine and Pediatrics.
2) In relation to severity of disability and MBI, FIM, PULSES profile scores, mild cases were 98.3¡¾3.3, 118.5¡¾1.0, modeate cases were 79.8¡¾9.7, 99.8¡¾15.9, 9.7¡¾1.7 and severe cases were 27.9¡¾10.9, 65.6¡¾13.6, 12.9¡¾1.9 respectively.
3) By means of SCL-90-R test, the decrease in depression and paranoid ideation wer statistically significant.
